Mangaluru, Nov 20, 2025: Canara Bank’s Circle Office in Mangaluru celebrated its 173rd Founder’s Day with a series of community-focused initiatives, reaffirming its commitment to social responsibility. The celebrations featured two major events — a blood donation camp in association with the Indian Red Cross Society and a walkathon jointly organised with the local police.
The blood donation camp was inaugurated by renowned medical practitioner Dr. Shantharam Shetty, who attended as the chief guest. Canara Bank Circle Head & General Manager Sri Manjunath B. Singai, Deputy General Managers Smt. Latha Kurup, Sri Shailendra Nath, and Smt. L.R. Vijayashree, along with other senior officials, were present. The camp received enthusiastic participation from bank staff, customers, and well-wishers who volunteered to donate blood.

In another highlight of the day, a walkathon was organised to promote banking awareness and financial literacy among the public. The event began at the historic monument marking the bank’s founding location and concluded at the Circle Office. Participants followed three designated routes across the city, carrying placards and banners that underscored the relevance of responsible banking and financial education.
The walkathon was flagged off by Circle Head Sri Manjunath B. Singai, who was accompanied by senior officials and dignitaries. A large contingent of current and former employees joined the march, raising slogans and engaging the public on the importance of financial empowerment.
Speaking at the event, Sri Manjunath B. Singai said, “Canara Bank is proud to be part of India’s financial landscape for over 173 years. We remain committed to delivering quality banking services and fostering financial inclusion. Initiatives like the blood donation camp and walkathon reflect our dedication to community service and social responsibility.”
