CM promises sincere efforts to set up mobile High Court Bench in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Dec 4, 2025: The matter regarding the need for a mobile High Court Bench in Mangaluru has come to my notice. I will discuss this with the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court and make sincere efforts to establish a High Court Bench in Mangaluru, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured on Wednesday.

A delegation of advocates from the coastal region met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and submitted a request seeking the establishment of a mobile High Court Bench in Mangaluru.

Speaking on the occasion, Ivan D’Souza—Convenor of the High Court Bench Agitation Committee and Member of the Legislative Council—urged that a High Court Bench should be set up to ensure speedy justice for the people of the coastal region.

Responding positively to the appeal, the Chief Minister assured that he would hold discussions with the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court. He added that an appropriate decision would be taken after the discussion.

Those present included Mangaluru Bar Association president Raghavendra H.V., Public Prosecutor M.P. Noronha, T.N. Poojary, M.R. Ballal, M. Yashavantha Maroli, Muhammad Asgar, Nooruddin Salmara, Mangaluru Bar Association vice-president Sujith Kumar, general secretary Sridhar H., joint secretary Jyothi, Dakshina Kannada District Bar Association president Richard D’Costa, Puttur Bar Association president Jagannath Rai, Moodbidri Bar Association president Harish Kumar, and advocates Sumana Sharan, Shalini, along with office-bearers of various bar associations from Dakshina Kannada and the coastal region.
