MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik, MLA N. Yogish Bhat, DC Dr. Chennappa Gowda, Nagaraj Shetty, Additional Commissioner Prabhakar Sharma, IGP Alok Mohan, Assistant Commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalikatti, Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh, MCC Commissioner Dr. K. N. Vijayaprakash, and many others also offered flowers.

Yeddyurappa then addressed a press meet, during which he expressed his heartfelt condolences before blasting the union government for its silence over Governor H. R. Bharadwaj’s recommendation for president’s rule in Karnataka. He said that he is giving the centre two days to reject the report. He then flayed the governor for conspiring with the Congress to destabilize the government.

Accusing the governor of undemocratic acts of conspiring with the opposition parties to damage the state government instead of seeking to strengthen the bonds between the state and the central governments, he said that the governor has been troubling the government right from day one because of his own selfish desire to rule the state.

Expressing confidence in the central government, he said that the BJP trusts that the centre will reject the governor’s report and recall the governor.

Criticizing Veerappa Moily and Janardhana Poojary, Yeddyurappa wanted to know why they were quiet about the Congress’s undemocratic moves to remove the state government. He remarked that the Congress is slowly transforming into a regional party from a national party.

He also said that the government has released Rs. 15 crore for the extension of the runway of the Bajpe Airport and Rs. 8 crore for the overall development of this airport. He assured that the airport is well on its way to become an international airport.

The CM also said that the Mangalore Jail will be shifted to the outskirts of the city, adding that the government plans to shift all jails that are within city limits to the outskirts. He said that the new jail building will be used for something else and that a new jail will be constructed on the outskirts soon.
