A delegation of the Union met Deputy Commissioner N Prakash on December 4, Wednesday  and apprised him that the   installation of display cards giving all details of the autorickshaw driver including his photograph, mobile number, blood group, address etc would do more harm than good in a sensitive city like Mangalore.

The display card system is also not conducive for those who  have opted for autorickshaw driving as a temporary profession, the Union further pointed out.

It has further described as ridiculous  the decision of the administration to go in for a display card at a time when the autorickshaw drivers of the city were facing many problems including absence of social security and lack of adequate parking arrangements.

Sunil Kumar Bajal, Honorary President of the Union, Krishnappa Gowda, President, Mohammad Ansar, General Secretary, Keshava, Stanley Noronha and others were part of the delegation.
