CCB police seize 23.25 Kilos of Ganja, one arrested

Mangaluru, May 30, 2023: A man has been arrested by the Mangaluru CCB police for allegedly transporting a significant quantity of ganja from Vishakhapatnam to Mangaluru and Kerala in a car. The police apprehended Moidin Shabbir (35), a resident of Bandyod, Mangalpadi grama, Kasaragod, during an interception near Mudipu Kayaragoli cross. This operation was carried out by a CCB team led by ACP P A Hegde, acting on specific information about the drug transportation.

 

During the arrest, the police confiscated 23.250 kilos of ganja, two mobile phones, and Rs 220 in cash. The seized items, including the Mahindra car and the mobile phones, have an estimated value of Rs 12,96,470. The Konaje police station has registered a case related to this incident.

The accused, Moidin Shabbir, has a history of involvement in various criminal activities, including theft, assault, murder, and drug peddling (ganja). He has previously faced charges in multiple cases registered at Kasaragod, Manjeshwar, Kumble, and Vidyanagar police stations. Additionally, a separate drug peddling case involving ganja was registered against him in Andhra Pradesh.

The operation was conducted by the CCB unit, with the participation of ACP P A Hegde, police inspector Sham Sunder M, PSI Sharanappa Bhandary, and other CCB staff members.
