CASK to hold Centenary Celebration on September 22

Mangalore, Sep 18, 2013: Catholic Association of South Kanara (CASK) will hold Centenary Celebration at Milagres Hall on September 22, Sunday at 6 pm.

Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Sep 18, Wednesday, Dr Derek Lobo, president of CASK said that the CASK is the oldest Catholic Lay Organization in South India. 


CASK has worked over last 100 years towards fulfilling the objectives of association in promoting education, culture and welfare activities for the community. It has also rendered assistance to many under-privileged and vulnerable groups of society, irrespective of religion, caste, creed or any other distinction, he said.


As a part centenary celebration, the association will hold ‘Promotion of Blood, Organ and Whole Body Donations’, ‘Personality Development Programme’, ‘Substantial scale up of the CASK Education Fund’, Organize talks by eminent Kanara Catholics, Publish a book on the 100 years history of CASK and the Mangalarean catholic community.


He also said that Honourable Governer of Rajasthan Margaret Alva will be the chief guest. Minister for Road Transport and Highways Oscar Fernandes, MLA J R Lobo and Rosary Education Group chairman Vivek Aranha will be the guests of honour, while Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza will bless the event.
