Byari to be screened at Ravindra Kala Bhavan on June 16

Mangalore, June 13, 2012: Vijaykumar Kodialbail, producer and director of Tulu movies and president of the DK Karavali Bellimandala Film Society, announced at a press meet held on June 13, Wednesday, that Byari, the award-winning Beary movie and the first movie to be made in Beary language, will be shown at Ravindra Kala Bhavan, Mangalore University College on June 16 at 5:30 p.m.

The DK Karavali Belli Mandala Film Society had decided to screen art movies on the third Saturday of every month, and accordingly, Byari will be screen on June 16. Byari is produced by T. H. Althaf Hussain and directed by K. P. Suveran. The movie won the national Swarna Kamala Award the same year it was released.

Vijaykumar Kodialbail also said that Tara, president of the Karnataka Film Academy, had mentioned that there will be a 2 – 3 day film festival in Mangalore soon. He also invited film enthusiasts in rural areas to start branches of Bellimandala Film Society in their localities.


He said that the chief guests at the screening will be Umanath Kotian, president of Karnataka Tulu Academy, T. H. Althaf Hussain, producer of Byari, and others. An interactive session will be held after the screening.
