Businessman dies in road accident

Mangalore, Nov 23, 2012 : A businessman died when his bike dashed against a car in front of the office of the Hebri Forest Department on Thursday.

 

 

The deceased Dayanand Hegde (50), a former member of the Karkala APMC, hails from Hadimane. He was also a BJP worker.

He was riding from Hebri to Shivapur when a car dashed into his bike. The local people rushed him to Manipal Hospital immediately, where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The car driver, who is believed to be from Soraba, fled the scene leaving his car behind. Later, it was found that the car belongs to a member of the Zilla Panchayat.

The Hebri police have registered a case.
