Bus rolls into gorge at Thumbay ; 1 killed, over 20 injured

Bantwal, Aug 15, 2013  : A Sugama bus on way to Mangalore from Bangalore, rolled into a 25 feet deep gorge  on the NH 75 at Thumbay  resulting in the death of one person and injuries to over 20 passengers. The mishap took place in the early hours of August 15, Thursday.

The deceased passenger is Shekhar Shetty (60) of Brahmavar. It is learnt that the bus was overloaded with goods leading to the mishap. The driver lost control over the vehicle  resulting in the tragedy.

The injured have been admitted to various hospitals. Bantwal Police have registered a case.
