Bus overturns near Kapu due to sudden braking in heavy rain; several passengers injured

Kapu, May 27, 2025: Due to heavy rainfall, a bus overturned yesterday evening near Polipu on National Highway 66, close to Kapu, after the driver suddenly applied the brakes. Reports indicate that four to five passengers were injured in the incident.

The private express bus, which was traveling from Udupi towards Mangaluru, lost control and overturned into a roadside ditch after the driver braked suddenly due to the rain. As a result, several passengers sustained injuries. A case has been registered at the Kapu police station regarding the incident.
