Bus carrying trekkers to Kudremukh overturns near Kalasa, several injured

Chikkamagaluru, December 20, 2025: A bus transporting about 48 people from Bengaluru to Kudremukh for a trekking trip overturned near the Kachagane curve, close to Kalasa, at around 5.30 am on Friday.

Several passengers sustained injuries in the mishap and were immediately shifted to a private Kaveri Hospital in Kalasa town, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Following information about the accident, local residents and police rushed to the spot and carried out rescue operations. According to the police, the driver lost control of the bus, causing it to overturn. Passengers suffered injuries to their hands, legs and heads.

Officials said there were no fatalities in the incident. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, and further investigation is in progress.
