Burglary at Kadri Jogi Math office; silver ornaments and cash stolen

Mangaluru, Jan 29, 2029: A case has been registered following a burglary at the office of the Jogi Math Renovation and Management Committee located within the Kadri Jogi Math premises, where gold ornaments and cash were stolen after miscreants broke open the door lock.

According to the complaint, thieves broke into the office and stole ornaments belonging to Dhumavati Daiva and Lord Ganapati that were kept in a cupboard. From a bag containing Dhumavati Daiva’s ornaments, the burglars allegedly stole seven out of eight silver gubbes, one out of two half-moon-shaped silver ornaments, one out of two large silver flower ornaments, one out of two small silver flower ornaments, and one sandalwood container.

In addition, from the ornaments of Lord Ganapati, thieves stole one out of two silver trunk ornaments, three out of four silver bangles, one silver earring, and two silver anklets. The theft came to light on January 27.

The stolen property includes about 511 grams of silver ornaments valued at approximately ₹90,000 and cash amounting to ₹40,000. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at around ₹1.30 lakh, as stated in the complaint.

Based on a complaint filed by Harinath M., president of the Kadri Jogi Math Renovation and Management Committee, the Mangaluru East police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
