Brand Mangaluru Award presented to senior journalist Sandeep Wagle

Mangaluru, Jul 22, 2021: Brand Mangaluru Award given by the Dakshina Kannada  Working Journalists’ Union was conferred on Sandeep Wagle, senior reporter of Kannada Prabha at a function held at Press Club here on July 22, Thursday. The  Award is given to  human interest reports that promote harmony and humanitarian values.

 

 

 

 

Wagle’s report titled " Komu Sauhardathege Sakshi-Sethuvada Yakshagana" published in  Kannada Prabha dated November 25, 2020  was selected for the Award. The report  had narrated how a Muslim family wholeheartedly agreed to let its  front yard to hold a Yakshagana  performance by a Hindu neighbour. District Superintendent of Police  Rishikesh Sonavane presented the Award.

Raviprasad Kamila, Head of the Mangaluru Bureau of The Hindu, Smitha Shenoy, Head of the Department of Journalism of Besant Women’s College and Sowmya K B Kikkeri, Lecturer in Journalism Department of Mangalore University were part of the award selection committee.

Srinivas Nayak Indaje, President of DK District Journalists’ Union,  senior journalist Harish Rai,  Mangaluru Press Club President Annu Mangaluru and others were present.
