Brahmavar: Son allegedly kills parents by attacking them with hammer

Brahmavar, Aug. 24, 2026: A man allegedly killed his parents by attacking them with a hammer following a dispute over a trivial matter at Gandhinagar in Brahmavar on Sunday night.

The deceased have been identified as Mehboob Ali and his wife, Shamshad Begum, residents of Gandhinagar. Their son, Shahid Ali, has been accused of the killings and has been taken into custody by Brahmavar police for questioning.

Mehboob Ali worked as a lorry driver, while Shahid Ali was reportedly employed as a food delivery worker. According to police sources, an argument broke out between Shahid and his parents over an issue on Sunday night. During the altercation, Shahid allegedly attacked both of them with a hammer in a fit of anger.

The couple sustained severe injuries and died. Shahid reportedly informed the police about the incident himself. Acting on the information, police reached the spot and took him into custody.

The exact motive behind the killings has not yet been established. Police are investigating various angles, including a possible family dispute. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
