Boat tragedy : Rs 6 lakh ex-gratia released to families of victims

Mangaluru, Dec 02, 2020:     The state government has released a compensation of Rs 6 lakh each to the  families of the  fishermen who lost their lives in the Shree Raksha fishing boat tragedy.

 

This was informed in a tweet by DK District in-charge Minister and State Minister for  Fisheries and Ports Kota Srinivas Poojary. He said the amount has been released as per the direction of the Chief Minister and that he would strive to release more compensation.

 The Minister, on December 2, Wednesday visited the mortuary of the Wenlock Hospital where the bodies of the four   fishermen who lost their lives in the tragedy are kept.

He said  investigation is underway  to know the exact cause of the mishap.
