Boat capsizes near old port ; 8 fishermen rescued

Mangalore, Aug 6, 2013 : Eight fishermen on board a fishing boat were fortunate enough as they were pulled to safety by the locals after their  boat capsized at the estuary at old Mangalore Port on August 5, Monday afternoon.

 

The boat named ‘Nimmi Kalyani’ owned by Mohan Menon capsized due to inclement weather after water began to gush in the boat.  Fishermen in another boat named ‘Sagar Kusum’ rushed to their help and rescued them.

Panambur police have registered a case.
