Bishop leads Christian delegation to CM Sadananda Gowda

Mangalore, Dec 8, 2011: Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the bishop of Mangalore Diocese, led a delegation to D. V. Sadananda Gowda, the chief minister of Karnataka, to thank him for withdrawing the cases registered against Christians during the church attacks of 2008.


The bishop also invited the chief minister to participate in the post centenary silver jubilee celebrations of the Mangalore Diocese, which is scheduled to be held on Feb 11 – 12, next year.

On this occasion, the chief minister assured the delegation that the government will soon release the Rs. 50 crore sanctioned for the Christian Development Council. 


The delegation comprised Christian leaders such as M. P. Noronha, the lawyer; Fr. William Menezes, the PRO of Mangalore Diocese; Fr. Onil D’Souza, the CODP director; Susheel Noronha, the secretary of the jubilee celebrations committee; Praveen Patrao, the vice president of the Kulshekar Parish Council; and Rajesh D’Souza, the member of the Kulshekar parish finance committee.
