Bishop inaugurates new adoration chapel at Barkur

Mangalore, May 16, 2012 : Rev. Fr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the bishop of Mangalore Diocese, inaugurated and blessed the new adoration chapel on the premises of the Church of St. Peter, Barkur.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Herbert, Wilfred, Aloysius, Cyril, Victor, Lilly, Denis, and Gloria of Pakshikere parish funded this chapel in memory of their parents Alice D’Souza and late Lawrence D’Souza for the church’s centenary jubilee celebrations.

The construction of the chapel cost Rs. 12 lakhs. Danny Pinto, lecturer in MIT, Manipal, and his wife Tina Pinto, designer, drew the designs for the chapel and oversaw the construction work.

Fr. Alban D’Souza, the parish priest, and the members of the parish pastoral council welcomed the bishop. The parish priest also delivered the vote of thanks.
