Bike rally organized prior to Sonia Gandhi’s visit

Mangalore, Oct 18, 2012: People belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category, under the leadershipof Amrit Kadri, organized a bike rally today in preparation for the visit of Sonia Gandhi, president of the Indian National Congress, to the city.

Parameshwar, president of the KPCC, flagged off the rally at Kadri Temple at 12:10 p.m. Siddaramaiah, senior congressman and Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly was also present.

 

 

 

M. C. Venugopal said in his address that the bike rally is being organized to create awareness regarding the visit of Sonia Gandhi to Mangalore. Another purpose is to create awareness of the missrule of the BJP government.

Further, he said that the BJP’s move to bring the income limit system has deprived several OBC students of their right to free education. This system has created a lot of suffering for OBC students, he added.

He announced that the Congress has brought out pamphlets on the injustice caused by the BJP to people belonging to the OBC.
