Bharath Rao receives Rashtrapati Scout Award

Mangalore, July 26: B Bharath Rao, leader of Loyola Scout troop of Aloysius High School, Kodialbail has received the prestigious Rastrapathi Scout Award in the presence of Shrimati Prathibha Patil, the honourable President of India at Ashoka Hall, Rastrapathi Bhavan, New Delhi on July 14, 2010.

Bharath, was the leader of Loyola Scout troop, St Aloysius college since December 2, 2004. He has also participated in the Republic day, Independence Day and Karnataka Rajyothsava parade at Nehru Ground, Mangalore on ten occasions. As leader of troop, he led the scout contingent in the 2009 Independence Day march fast to salute the district-in-charge minister. He has also attended the national Mini Jamboree at Ahmedabad in Gujarat University Ground and participated in the march fast as member of the Karnataka Contingent.

He has written software in Visual Basic titled “Knowledge Bank Management Suite” which is being extensively used in libraries for library management in St Aloysius High School, St Aloysius B Ed College and other Aloysian Institutions. He has also participated in a dialogue programme and interacted with Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, former President of India. The programme was organised at Corporation Bank Head office, Mangalore.
