Mangalore, Dec 23: Fr. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, the bishop of Mangalore Diocese, and 12 other concelebrants marked the beginning of the year-long sacred observance of the 50th death anniversary of Msgr Raymond F C Mascarenhas, also known as Servant of God, by celebrating the Eucharistic Mass in Bendur Church at 10:30 a.m. on Dec 23, Wednesday.

The bishop said in his homily that Msgr Raymond was one of those rare people who had experienced God deeply, could see far into the future, and was totally engrossed with sharing the love of God with the less fortunate. As per the requirements of the times, he founded the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany in 1921 for girls and young women eager to lead a religious life and serve the poor.
