Bengaluru Man Arrested for Alleged Communal Facebook Post

Mangaluru, June 28, 2026: The Vittal Police have arrested a Bengaluru-based man for allegedly posting an objectionable comment on Facebook that was detrimental to communal harmony.

The accused has been identified as Ananda A., a resident of Vidyamanya Nagara in Bengaluru. According to police, he posted the objectionable comment through a Facebook page named "Sanatani Simha" in response to a post circulated on the social media platform.

Based on a complaint, the Vittal Police had registered a case on September 18, 2025, under Section 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and launched an investigation.

Following the investigation, police traced and arrested the accused. He was produced before a court for further legal proceedings.
