Belthangady man arrested for threatening trader at Bunder

Mangaluru, Jan 27, 2023: Bunder police have arrested a man from Belthangady in connection with a case of threatening and assaulting a trader.

 

The arrested person is Dinesh Shetty (55).  The accused  had called the trader Muralidhar Pai who owned a shop at Bunder and had said he wanted crackers worth Rs 5 lakhs and had also asked him to come to a hotel. When Pai did not agree to it the next day the accused along with four others had reportedly barged into the former’s shop and threatened his life.

A complaint was lodged in Bunder police station following which Dinesh Shetty has been arrested. It is learnt the accused was a former aide of underworld don Ravi Poojary.
