Belthangady: externment order issued again for Mahesh Shetty Timarodi

Belthangady, December 18, 2025: An order has been issued once again to extern social activist Mahesh Shetty Timarodi from Dakshina Kannada district.

Puttur Assistant Commissioner Stella Varghese has passed orders externing Mahesh Shetty Timarodi to the jurisdiction of the Manvi police station in Raichur district. Recently, the Assistant Commissioner had issued a show-cause notice to Timarodi, seeking an explanation as to why he should not be externed. In response, Mahesh Shetty Timarodi submitted his objections to the externment notice on December 7.

He also presented his arguments against the notice through his advocate before the Assistant Commissioner. After hearing arguments and counter-arguments, the Assistant Commissioner has now issued a fresh externment order against Timarodi. Dakshina Kannada district police had submitted a report citing sufficient grounds for externment, based on which the order was passed.

Following the externment order, Belthangady police visited Timarodi’s residence at Ujire to serve the order. However, as he was not present at his house, the police returned. Sources said that Timarodi has reportedly moved to an undisclosed location after learning about the externment order.
