Belthangady: SIT SP C.A. Simon among four injured as Innova overturns near Charmadi

Belthangady, Jun 17, 2026: An Innova car carrying the Superintendent of Police (SP) of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) overturned after the driver lost control near Charmadi in Belthangady taluk of Dakshina Kannada district.

The SIT had been constituted to investigate the Dharmasthala Burude case. SIT SP C.A. Simon, Inspector Kusumadhar, the driver, and another staff member were travelling in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The incident occurred while they were on their way to meet Chikkamagaluru SP Jitendra Kumar Dayama, who is also the investigating officer of the SIT case, to hold discussions regarding the ongoing probe.

The driver, SP Simon, Inspector Kusumadhar, and another staff member sustained minor injuries in the mishap.
