Belthangady: Police bust prostitution racket operating under guise of canteen, three arrested

Belthangady, May 11, 2026: Police raided a canteen operating on KEB Road in Kasaba village and busted an alleged prostitution racket being run under the guise of a food outlet. Three persons, including the canteen owner, were arrested during the operation.

The arrested have been identified as canteen owner Sundar Shetty and customers Usman and Haider.

According to police, the raid was conducted at ‘Pawan Canteen’ following credible information about illegal prostitution activities being carried out on the premises. During the operation, police rescued a 29-year-old woman and seized cash amounting to Rs 5,000.

A case has been registered at the Belthangady Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
