Belthangady: Man kills wife, dumps body in well

Beltangady, Nov 4, 2023: A man is suspected of killing his wife by strangling her and then disposing of her body in a well at Belalu in Belthangady on Friday.

The victim, identified as Shashikala (27), was allegedly murdered by her husband, Sudhakar. Reports indicate that Sudhakar and Shashikala entered a love marriage seven years ago.

Their relationship had been marred by family discord over the past few years, leading to frequent disputes between them. On the day of the incident, a heated argument erupted, culminating in Sudhakar purportedly strangling Shashikala in a fit of anger. Subsequently, when she lost consciousness, he is accused of discarding her body into a well.

Authorities have initiated a case in relation to the incident at the Dharmasthala police station.
