Belthangady: Man drowns in bid to rescue wife, son

Belthangady, May 16, 2023: A 52 year old man from Hassan drowned in his bid to rescue his wife and son who were drowning in the Netravathi river near Dharmasthala on May 15, Monday.

 

The deceased is Krishnappa Gowda H T of Haralahalli. He had stepped into the Netravathi river with his wife and son. However when his wife and son were about to be washed away in the river water, Krishnappa managed to pull them towards the bank. However, later he accidentally slipped and drowned in the river. The body was later recovered by the Disaster Management team members.

A case has been registered in Dharmasthala police station.
