Belthangady: Man attempting house theft caught and thrashed by public

Belthangady, Nov 10, 2025: A man attempting to break into a house was caught and beaten by the public before being handed over to the police at Barne near Maladi in Belthangady.

The accused has been identified as Chetan. He allegedly tried to commit theft when the house owner was away. Alert neighbours noticed his suspicious activity, caught him with the help of locals, and informed the police.

A case has been registered at the Poonjalkatte Police Station, and the accused is currently in police custody.
