Belthangady: Long-absconding Ganja case accused arrested in Karkala

Belthangady, Aug 15, 2025: Belthangady police have arrested a man who had been evading arrest for a long time in connection with an illegal ganja possession and sale case. The arrest took place in Karkala on August 14.

The accused, identified as Mohammad Rafiq alias Maddadka Rafiq (39), a resident of Kuvettu village in Belthangady taluk, was produced before the Belthangady court and remanded to judicial custody.

A team led by Belthangady police station inspector Subbapur Math successfully apprehended the accused.

Rafiq is reportedly involved in multiple ganja-related cases registered at Beltangady, Venoor, and Banakal police stations, the Chikkamagaluru and Dakshina Kannada district CEN police stations, as well as Bantwal and Belthangady excise stations.
