Belthangady: Elderly man found dead near Guruvayanakere bus stand

Belthangady, Aug 18, 2026: The body of a 70-year-old man was found near the Guruvayanakere bus stand in Kuvettu village, Belthangady taluk, on Tuesday morning, August 18.

The deceased was identified as Mariyappa, a resident of Kenchala in Hosanagara taluk of Shivamogga district, police said.

According to preliminary information, Mariyappa had been suffering from health issues and is believed to have collapsed and died.

Belthangady police visited the spot, conducted an inspection and registered a case. Further investigation is underway.
