Belthangady: Cops arrest trio wanted in 4 year old dacoity case

Belthangady, May 28, 2024: Police have  arrested three persons in connection with a four year old dacoity caase reported from Kalmanja.

 

Those arrested are Nawaz (38), Riyaz of Mundaje and Krishna. The theft had taken place in the house of areca grower Achyutha Bhat. The thieves had barged into the house, tied down the inmates of the house and robbed jewellery.

Police have recovered 104 grams jewellery, 288 grams silver items, a bike and a cash of Rs 25000 from them.

The incident had taken place on June 6, 2020. It is learnt, the accused used to sell the stolen jewellery in small portions. Recently cops on gathering hint that Riyaz was trying to sell unaccounted cash, zeroed on him and on interrogation the involvement in the dacoity case came to light.
