Belthangady: Car, KSRTC bus collide head-on near Kokkada; several injured

Belthangady, Sep 12, 2026: Several people were injured after a car and a KSRTC bus collided head-on on the National Highway near Kokkada on Saturday, September 12.

The accident occurred when the car, which was travelling from Dharmasthala towards Bengaluru, collided with the KSRTC bus travelling from Subrahmanya towards Dharmasthala. The impact was severe, leaving the front portion of the bus and the car badly damaged.

Three passengers travelling in the bus and several occupants of the car are reported to have sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Police reached the spot and conducted an inspection. Further details regarding the accident are awaited.
