Belthangady: Bike rider killed after crane rams motorcycle from behind

Belthangady, May 5, 2026: A 49-year-old man died on the spot after a crane vehicle rammed into his motorcycle from behind at Belalu Pete in Belthangady on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Jaya Mestri (49), a resident of Balanja village. He was living in a rented house near Belalu village and worked as a rubber tapper.

Traffic police from the Belthangady station visited the spot and conducted an inspection. The body has been shifted to the Belthangady taluk government hospital.

A case has been registered at the Belthangady Traffic Police Station.
