
Belthangady, July 2, 2026: The Dharmasthala Police have arrested a 35-year-old man who had been absconding for nearly nine years in connection with an ATM card theft and cash withdrawal case. The accused was produced before a court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
The arrested accused has been identified as Srinivasa (35), a resident of Kavalagunta, Penamuru, Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh.
He was wanted in Crime No. 169/2016 (CC No. 597/2017) registered at the Belthangady court under Sections 379 (theft) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly stealing an ATM card from a car and fraudulently withdrawing money.
Acting on credible information, a police team led by Circle Inspector Ravi B.S., under the guidance of Belthangady Sub-Division DYSP Rohini C.K., traced and arrested Srinivasa from Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, on June 30.
The accused was produced before the court on July 1, following which the court remanded him to judicial custody.
