Belthangady: 2 vehicles damaged as electricity tower collapses

Belthangady, Nov 06, 2023: An electricity tower near the Kiriyadi Cross on Ujire-Belalu road in Belthangady  collapsed due to heavy rains on November 5, Sunday. A car and a two-wheeler were damaged in the incident. One staff sustained minor injuries.

 

A MESCOM line man who had noticed that the electric tower was slanted due to rains had immediately informed the Ujire Sub-division of MESCOM. Soon officials  arrived at the spot and as soon as they arrived there the tower fell over their vehicles.

The timely action to snap power connection averted great danger. Following the collapse of the tower, power connection is snapped in Dharmasthala region.
