Beltangady: Another case filed against Girish Mattannanavar, Mahesh Shetty Timarodi

Belthangady, Sep 1, 2025: The Belthangady police on Sunday registered another case against pro-Saujnaya activists Girish Mattannanavar and Mahesh Shetty Timarodi for allegedly spreading false news on social media.

According to a complaint filed by Praveen K.R of Dharmasthala village, the duo attempted to disturb communal harmony and hurt religious sentiments. The complaint states that in a video uploaded on YouTube on August 30, Girish Mattannanavar, along with a person named Madan Bugudi, made statements that could disrupt social peace.

It is further alleged that Mattannanavar and Timarodi have been engaging in activities intended to create disharmony and offend sentiments. The complaint also accuses them of falsely introducing Madan Bugudi as a Human Rights Commission officer before the media, thereby misleading the public and tarnishing the credibility of the Commission.

The complainant claims that both men have been conspiring through social media for several days.

Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against Girish Mattannanavar, Mahesh Shetty Timarodi, and Madan Bugudi under IPC Sections 204, 319(2), 353(2), and 3(5) at the Belthangady police station.
