Beary academy flags off Beary folk rally

Mangalore. Sept. 9, 2012: Rahim Uchil, president of the Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy flagged off Halli Hallig Beary Sandal, a Beary folk rally organized to promote Beary culture and language, on September 9, Sunday, in front of the academy office.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Uchil said that the academy has organized this rally to promote Beary culture in several villages.

 

 

 

 

 

The rally comprises folk teams such as Kolkali Team, Oppana Paat Team, Duff Team, and Singers Team. The rally, which is now on its way to Bantwal, is scheduled to pass through 10 villages in Bantwal. It will be held on the second and fourth Sundays of every month for the next four months and will visit different parts of the Karnataka such as Hassan, Shimoga, Udupi, Sakleshpur, Bangalore, and Belur.

Academy members and Registrar Umarabba were also present.
