Bantwal: Woman killed, three seriously injured in car-pickup collision at Mani flyover

Bantwal, Sept 28, 2026: A woman was killed and three others seriously injured after an Alto car collided with a tempo pickup vehicle at the Mani flyover in Bantwal around 6 am on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Nabeesha, 55, a resident of Madikeri.

According to sources, four women and the driver were travelling in the car after attending an Umrah class and were returning home when the accident occurred. The three seriously injured women have been shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.

Local residents have reportedly been raising concerns over the confusing layout of the service road at the location, which provides access towards Puttur, Madikeri and Mysuru.

They said motorists unfamiliar with the area often face confusion as the narrow service road is not clearly visible and there are no adequate signboards indicating the entry route. Residents have alleged that the lack of proper road signage and clarity has contributed to accidents in the area.
