Bantwal: Woman flung several feet after car hits her while crossing road; horrific incident caught on CCTV

Mangaluru, April 1, 2026: A woman was knocked down by a car while attempting to cross the road, and the impact flung her several feet away. The shocking incident was captured on CCTV.

The accident occurred at Dasaragudde in Sajipamunnur village of Bantwal taluk. The injured woman has been identified as Bharathi (48), a resident of Boliyaru village in Ullal taluk.

Bharathi had come to Sajipamood with her daughter, Deepshree, to offer prayers at Guligajje Katte. While trying to cross the Melkar–Mudipu state highway, a car travelling from Melkar towards Mudipu hit her.

The injured woman has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru. A case has been registered at the Bantwal Traffic Police Station. Due to the force of the collision, the woman was thrown a considerable distance.
