Bantwal: Warrant accused absconding for nearly five years arrested

Bantwal, Oct 23, 2026: Bantwal Town Police have arrested a warrant accused who had been absconding for nearly five years without appearing before the court.

The accused, identified as Irshad alias Mohammed Irshad, a resident of Manchi in Bantwal taluk, was arrested on October 21, 2026.

He was wanted in connection with a case registered at Bantwal Town Police Station under Crime No. 139/2007 under Sections 366, 368, 420, 120 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The accused was produced before the court, and his passport was seized. The court subsequently remanded him to judicial custody.
