Bantwal: Three youths held for stealing cash from religious center donation boxes

Bantwal, Aug 4, 2025: Vittal police have arrested three youths in connection with the theft of cash from a donation box at a religious center.

The arrested are Twahid (19), Umar Farooq (18), and Mohammad Nabeel (18), all residents of Vittal Kasaba village.

The incident came to light on July 26 when D. Narayan Rao, a resident of Delantabettu and president of the local religious center, visited the site.

Donation boxes placed by the roadside near Delantabettu School and below the Delantabettu Church were found broken open. Approximately Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000 kept in the boxes was stolen, Rao stated in his complaint. Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Vittal police station.
