Bantwal Rural Police Seize MDMA, Cocaine Worth Over ₹1.05 Crore; One Arrested

Bantwal, Aug 16, 2026: Bantwal Rural police have arrested a 35-year-old Bengaluru resident and seized MDMA, cocaine and other articles valued at an estimated ₹1.05 crore in an alleged drug trafficking case.

Acting on a tip-off that narcotics were being transported from Hassan towards Mangaluru, police intercepted a car (KA-01-MA-1284) late on August 16. The driver was identified as Mohammed Ameer Jartab (35), a resident of Kengeri, Bengaluru.

A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 538.63 grams of MDMA and 99.12 grams of cocaine, besides empty plastic containers, a digital weighing machine and other materials.

The seized MDMA was valued at ₹53.86 lakh and the cocaine at ₹49.56 lakh. Including other seized articles, the total value was estimated at ₹1,05,59,450.

A case has been registered at Bantwal Rural police station under Crime No. 113/2026 for offences under Sections 8(C), 22(C) and 21(B) of the NDPS Act, 1985. Further investigation is underway.
