Bantwal: Public outrage over soil transported in tipper lorry without safety measures

Bantwal, Mar 4, 2026: It has been reported that soil is being transported in a tipper lorry along the National Highway between Mani and B.C. Road in Dakshina Kannada district without adhering to basic safety norms.

During transportation, no safety precautions were taken. The soil was not covered with a tarpaulin sheet, and due to wind pressure, mud and fine sand are falling from the rear of the tipper, causing inconvenience to motorists.

Members of the public have also alleged that the tipper drivers are operating the vehicles at high speeds, further endangering other road users.
