Bantwal: Police arrest man in Rs 20 lakh gold jewellery theft case

Bantwal, Mar 10, 2026: The Bantwal Town Police have arrested an accused in connection with a gold jewellery theft that occurred five months ago from a bus parked near Samudra Hotel at Kudrebettu near Kalladka.

The arrested accused has been identified as Samad Khan (37), a resident of Madhya Pradesh.

The theft took place on November 19, 2025, when gold ornaments weighing 180 grams, worth about ₹20 lakh, belonging to a couple from Brahmavar, were stolen from a bag kept inside a Durgamba bus that had been parked near Samudra Hotel at Kudrebettu near Kalladka.

The Bantwal Town Police, who arrested the accused in connection with the case, have recovered the stolen gold ornaments and produced him before the Bantwal court.
