Bantwal : Over speeding KSRTC bus rams into bus shelter ; 8 injured

Uppinangady, July 30, 2013 : An over speeding KSRTC bus which tried to overtake a private bus, in the process rammed into a bus shelter injuring eight persons at Perne village in Bantwal taluk on July 29, Monday.

 The injured include  Vinutha, Nishmitha, Hemanth, Ashika and Suhaib, students of the Sri Ramachandra PU College, Perne,  Sanku, the college staff, Meenakshi and Mohammad. All of them were waiting for the bus when the mishap took place. They are said to be out of danger.

The mishap occurred when the driver of the Mangalore-Subrahmanya-Bangalore bus  tried to overtake a private bus which was dropping passengers near the Perne bus stop. The driver eventually lost control over the bus when he tried to avert collision with an oncoming vehicle.

 The driver and conductor of the bus fled the scene of the accident.
