Bantwal: Illegal gas filling unit raided; 2 arrested

Bantwal, Dec 29, 2013: The District Crime Branch Police have been successful in cracking down an illegal gas filling racket. The cops led by Crime Branch Inspector Bashir Ahmed who raided a house at Sajipanadu have arrested two persons in this connection. They have also seized a Maruti Omni, an autorickshaw, 14 vehicle cylinders, 14 domestic cylinders and a weighing machine.

Those arrested are Naufal (20) and Ashraf(35), residents of Bastigudde. It is learnt they were carrying out this illegal business and used to fill old gas cylinders and sell them. They even reportedly had links with a private gas agency.

The case has now been entrusted to the Bantwal Rural police who are carrying out the investigations.
