Bantwal: Four arrested for attempting to sell ganja

Bantwal, Sep 17, 2025: Vittla police have arrested three persons for allegedly attempting to sell ganja illegally, and later nabbed another accused during the investigation.

The arrested have been identified as Sanath Kumar (23) of Mangalapadavu, Vittla Kasaba; Mohammed Razik (23); Chetan (23); and Dhyan Karkera (23) of Erme Majalu.

On September 15, while Vittla Police Sub-Inspector Ramakrishna and his team were on rounds duty, they received credible information that three individuals were standing suspiciously with a two-wheeler on Erumbu Road, Alike village in Bantwal taluk. Upon questioning, it was revealed that they were in possession of ganja on the motorcycle and were attempting to sell it to customers illegally.

Police seized 6.27 grams of ganja, three mobile phones, a small knife, and the two-wheeler from the accused. A case has been registered.

During further investigation, another accused, Dhyan Karkera, was also taken into custody. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
