Bantwal, Oct 27, 2013: The First Class Magistrate Court of Bantwal now has a new building that has been constructed at a cost of Rs 2.5 crores. The building which has come up at BC Road was inaugurated on October 26, Saturday by Dr K Bhaktavatsala, Karnataka High Court judge and DK District Administrative Judge.
In his address, Bhaktavatsala said the government was leaving no stone unturned in ensuring clearance of backlog of cases. He also urged lawyers to put in efforts to see to it that cases are disposed at the earliest.
He further stated that cases are being disposed early these days due to the holding of Lok Adalats wherein cases are settled through negotiation.
BV Pinto, Karnataka High Court judge congratulated three junior advocates from DK district including two women who have passed in judges examination and have already been appointed judges.
Ramanatha Rai, DK District in-charge Minister presided over the function. Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, Chaudapurkar Arun, Principal District and Sessions Judge, AK Naveena Kumari, Senior Civil Judge, Srinivas, Principal Civil Judge, Jayaprakash DR, Additional Civil Judge and others were present.
