Bantwal : Autorickshaw driver dies in suspected case of rat fever

vishwanathBantwal, Dec 22, 2014: A suspected case of death due to rat fever has been reported from Modankaup in Bantwal.  Vishwanath (31), son of late Nonayya of Pallamajalu in Modankaup, an autorickshaw driver by profession  died on December 21, Sunday morning. Doctors who treated him  suspect that Vishwanath had contracted rat fever. Though a post mortem has been performed the exact cause of his death is not yet ascertained. 

Vishwanath, a bachelor was running an autorickshaw at BC Road-Kaikamba and was admitted to a local private hospital after he developed fever on December 19,Friday. Doctors who treated him said his  health condition deteriorated due to kidney failure as he was possibly suffering from rat fever.

Bantwal TMC President Vasanthi Chandappa, Revenue  Inspector Narayana Poojary and others visited the residence of  the deceased. Autorickshaw drivers  also condoled the death of their colleague by putting up black flags in their vehicles.
